Wow. That is intriguing.

I confess I am not a shopper at all. Even on a Tuesday in April, I do not enjoy shopping. But we were out of TP at our house the day after Thanksgiving & I had to brave retail madness to remedy the situation on "Black Friday".

I had a very physical reaction to what I saw: carts heaped full of toys, gadgets, things so drastically reduced in priced they simply begged to be purchased. Couples arguing over which gift to buy for whom, people shoving, employees noticeably stressed as they tried to minimize congestion in the aisleways and keep shoppers moving swiftly through the registers. Just piles and piles of mere stuff. The air thick with tension. I felt ill.

I'm glad to see there's something like this out there that focuses not on how much is spent or stuff acquired, but focuses on worshipping the Savior who came in the most humble way, on giving generously to those who would most benefit from it.

Thanks for sharing.

Kirsten... I love how you expressed your visceral reaction to all that stuff! It completely reminded me of the last time someone managed to get me to go to IKEA. I just about fainted from the overload, body and soul.
